The inspiration for Family Law Pathways Centres has come from over 20 years of learning from many families and family professionals. These are the families and family professionals who are involved in the law and psychology of separation and divorce.
The thing they all had in common was that they were fighting family warfare through the family justice system (i.e., the courts). Almost every family we met along the way (hundreds of families, men and women) said the same thing….the family court system is a broken system when it comes to trying to deal with the fallout from separation and divorce. Many of the wisest of judges, family specialists, senior lawyers, mediators, court workers, government workers….also said the same.
The other thing we all had in common was feeling almost helpless to do anything about it. We seemed powerless to help…really help.
INSPIRATION
Then we came to this realization….it was not the families and professionals that were broken. The many professionals such as mediators, family specialists, lawyers and judges who felt powerless to help, were not broken. The family law system, as it is currently set up, was broken.
A senior judge said something profound and inspiring…together we could fix this system of separation and divorce if we really wanted to…
A NEW PATHWAY
Family Law Pathways Centre gives families the ability to take back control from the broken family justice system; by choosing not to be involved in the family court system and by choosing to resolve disputes out of court.
But the process of remaining out of court can also be complicated. The solution was available to us but families and professionals needed to learn the solution (and unlearn the bad habits of the broken system).
So we founded the model of INFORMATION FIRST and EARLY NEUTRAL CONSULTATION.
INFORMATION FIRST is designed to empower families. EARLY NEUTRAL CONSULTATION gives families the information they need to take back control of the complex process for their separation….and get on the right pathway. The right pathway for most families to come out healthy at the end of a separation is almost always an out of court process. With a structured 1 1/2 hr consultation families can move forward with hearing ranges of options, asking questions and clarifications; and being responsible for choosing their pathways to move forward.
EARLY NEUTRAL CONSULTATION at Family Law Pathways Centre is a unique way to increase your ability to stay out of court; organize your separation process; and work most efficiently with professionals that are experienced to get you settlements out of court; and save your family money and resources.
EARLY NEUTRAL CONSULTATION is one step away….
